Improve your tree’s structural form. Spreading limbs opens up a tree’s canopy to allow for more light and air circulation. This promotes tree health and increases fruit size and quality. Gently wedge these lightweight, sturdy plastic limb spreaders between a tree’s young, pliable branches and its trunk to encourage wider, stronger branch angles (about 45 degrees from vertical). A great investment — reuse year after year! We suggest using 6″ and 9″ spreaders for stone fruit trees like cherries, peaches, and plums and 9″ and 12″ spreaders for fruit trees like apples and pears.
